A fall from the roof of a building in Oliana has left a man in serious condition this Thursday morning. The victim was trying to herd a flock of goats down when the roof gave way under his weight and caused the accident. Emergency services received the call shortly before eleven in the morning.
Coordinated action of rescue teams
Two fire crews quickly moved to the area to stabilize the scene. The personnel worked side by side with the Emergency Medical System staff to transfer the injured person to an ambulance without worsening their injuries. After initial stabilization, the EMS activated a medicalized helicopter that picked up the victim live and took them to the Arnau de Vilanova Hospital in Lleida. The patient remains admitted in serious condition while diagnostic tests continue.

Once the evacuation of the injured person was secured, the Bombers technicians proceeded to inspect the structure of the corrugated asbestos cement roof where the incident originated.
