The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested four men on April 9 in Figueres and Perafita de Cabanes for their alleged involvement in a kidnapping for ransom. The investigation began after the victim, who was held between December 8 and 9 on a farm in the province of Girona, filed a report.
International Retention
During the detention, the victim was assaulted to demand payment of 60,000 euros. Subsequently, she was transferred to another property in France, near the border with Belgium, where she remained detained until her family paid part of the money.

The suspects are mostly residents of France, although with frequent trips to Catalonia. The police operation allowed the search of the farm where the first kidnapping occurred.
Police deployment
The Special Intervention Group (GEI) and the ARRO participated in the operation. The arrested individuals are between 24 and 62 years old. The detainees were brought before the judicial authorities in Figueres.
The investigation remains open.
