Salt will host on Sunday, May 31st, an anti-racist race promoted by the Coordinadora d'ONG Solidàries and more than 80 entities and collectives from the Girona regions, after the organization and the City Council have reached an agreement on the route. The start and finish will be at plaça 1 d'Octubre, in front of Coma Cros, starting at ten in the morning.

The route is still being adjusted for mobility reasons, but the call already maintains its format and its political message. The promoters propose the day as a citizen mobilization against the increase in hate speech and racist discrimination in neighborhoods and cities.

The race will start from plaça 1 d'Octubre and will cover five kilometers

The race will have a circular urban circuit of five kilometers. The agreed itinerary will not pass through the Deveses or the passeig dels Països Catalans.

Instead, the race will cross the Veïnat de Salt, the Santa Eugènia de Girona neighborhood, and the center of Salt. The Ajuntament de Salt has specified that the route is being finalized for technical mobility reasons.

More than 80 entities place housing and criminalization at the center of the protest

The call brings together more than 80 entities and collectives from the territory. The organizers present the day as a space for mobilization and collective demand in the face of the increase in hate speech and racist discrimination.

The initiative wants to focus on structural racism and its daily effects, with attention to areas such as housing, poverty, and the criminalization of immigration. The first edition is also born with a will for continuity and a vocation for an annual event in the regions of Girona.

Facing May 31, the organizing entities call for participation to fill the streets of Salt and Girona with a message in favor of equality, dignity, and coexistence.
