Indra has appointed Josep Maria Recasens, current CEO of Renault Spain and president of Anfac, as the new CEO, replacing José Vicente de los Mozos. The board of directors confirmed the appointment this week, which will be submitted to the ordinary general meeting of shareholders scheduled for June 30.
The change comes after José Vicente de los Mozos left the position yesterday, before the initially scheduled date, and a few weeks after the change in the company's presidency with the arrival of Ángel Simón. The substitution accelerates a shift in the company's leadership despite the fact that at the end of February, after a meeting between Pedro Sánchez and De los Mozos in Barcelona, the option of his continuity had gained strength.
Recasens will take office on June 17 after leaving Renault
Recasens' effective takeover will take place on June 17 to facilitate an orderly transition in his current responsibilities and the transfer of functions. Born in Girona and residing in Paris, he currently holds the global position of Strategy, Product, and Programs at Renault, where he arrived in 2021 under Luca de Meo.
Indra thus concludes the process opened by the Nominations, Remunerations, and Corporate Governance Committee due to the imminent expiration of De los Mozos' mandate, whose continuity had been ruled out. In terms of shareholding, Sepi maintains approximately 28% of the capital as the company's main shareholder.
Within this reorganization, Ángel Simón has also appointed Ciril Rozman as director of the Presidency Office, with responsibilities in public, corporate, and governance affairs.
De los Mozos' departure was brought forward and opens up a millionaire cost
The outgoing CEO's departure occurred yesterday, earlier than June 30, which was the date previously considered. His departure may be accompanied by compensation exceeding 20 million euros, with amounts linked to his incentive plan.
CNMV filings show that De los Mozos received 1.512 million euros in 2025 and 1.486 million in 2024. In a message posted on LinkedIn, he stated that he leaves the company with the satisfaction of having contributed to a more solid, more global company prepared for future challenges.
Sources consulted place the origin of the decision not to renew his mandate in the economic environment of Moncloa. In that version, Ángel Simón conveyed to De los Mozos that the decision came from Manuel de la Rocha, head of Economic Affairs of the Presidency of the Government.
Weeks earlier, at the end of February, Pedro Sánchez met with De los Mozos in Barcelona. At that time, it was suggested that the Escribano family would leave the company and that the executive would remain as the chief executive officer.
The ordinary general shareholders' meeting that must ratify the appointment of Josep Maria Recasens is convened for June 30.
