The Escola Tècnica Girona will compete again in ElectroCatFP with an electric prototype built entirely by students from the higher-level Automotive cycle. The thirteenth edition of the competition will be held on May 19, 2026 at the Karting Nurburgreen circuit in Les Franqueses del Vallès.
The Girona center faces this new event with the intention of taking another step in the standings after the result obtained last year. The ETG will seek to improve the third position achieved in the previous edition, in an already consolidated event within the professional training calendar linked to electric mobility.
A prototype developed by the students
The vehicle with which the school will compete has been developed in the ETG facilities. The students' work has focused on electronic management, powertrain optimization, and battery efficiency, three key areas in the performance of this type of prototype.
This will be the twelfth consecutive participation of Escola Tècnica Girona in ElectroCatFP, a continued presence that reinforces the trajectory of the center in this competition.
Practical training oriented to the sector
"It is much more than a degree because it allows facing real problems of the sector and building with their own hands the transport solutions of the future" - Jordi Moncanut, director of the ETG
Moncanut frames the center's participation as a formative experience that goes beyond the result on track. The project allows students to work on a real case of technical development and apply knowledge directly related to the evolution of the automotive sector.
The event in Les Franqueses del Vallès will once again put to the test the technical work of the students from Girona, who arrive at the next edition with a new prototype and with the challenge of surpassing the podium achieved in 2025.
