A worker suffered injuries on Tuesday morning in Tamariu when a wall collapsed during renovation work. Emergency services acted quickly on Carrer de la Perica, in the municipality of Palafrugell, to rescue the worker affected by the incident.
The operator was trapped under the rubble
The events were registered around nine in the morning. A construction structure fell on the employee while he was carrying out rehabilitation tasks in a private home. The impact caused the man to be immobilized under the remains of the wall.
His lower extremity became trapped between the dislodged materials. This situation forced rescue teams to intervene with extreme caution to avoid further damage during the extraction.
Five units from the Generalitat Firefighters arrived at the scene to secure the area and proceed with the release. The personnel worked to stabilize the debris and access the worker without compromising his physical integrity.

The Emergency Medical System mobilized high-level health resources given the potential seriousness of the event. Three ambulances and a medicalized helicopter went to the scene to attend to the injured person.
Transfer to Josep Trueta Hospital
Health professionals provided immediate assistance at the scene. Once stabilized, they decided to transfer the patient to a hospital center to complete his medical evaluation.
He was transferred to the Josep Trueta Hospital in Girona with a diagnosis of minor severity. The worker's condition does not present characteristics of extreme urgency after the on-site care received.
The investigation into the exact causes of the collapse now falls to the competent authorities. The workplace accident is recorded as an isolated incident in the coastal town of Girona.
