Hostalric and Calonge have once again filled this Saturday with a medieval atmosphere with respective themed markets that will remain open until tomorrow as part of the Holy Week program. The two events have concentrated historical reenactment activities, street entertainment, and family proposals throughout the day.

Hostalric faces the final stretch of its fair with great attendance

Hostalric has received hundreds of visitors on the second day of its fair, on a day that began with the welcome of the viscounts and their retinue. The event served to recall the town's past as the capital of the Viscounty of Cabrera, one of the historical cornerstones of the celebration.

The animation has spread through the streets of the municipality with the presence of medieval and fantasy characters. Among them have paraded Climor the Alchemist, the Druids of the Forest, the giant of Vímet and his court, the Tree Man, Krakort and the goblin of Montseny, in addition to orcs and witches who have accompanied the festive route during a good part of the day.

The programming has also included a fakir show with juggling and humor, a participatory workshop to experience what the life of a soldier was like, and an activity designed to learn medieval dances as members of the royal court. All of this has reinforced the immersive character of a fair that faces its last day tomorrow.

Calonge premieres the 27th edition with a free bus to Sant Antoni

In the Baix Empordà, Calonge has inaugurated the 27th edition of its medieval market with a novelty focused on mobility. The municipality has launched a free bus service between Calonge and Sant Antoni to facilitate travel between the two neighboring centers during the celebration.

The programming planned in Calonge combines historical reenactment and activities open to the public. One of the afternoon's highlighted proposals is the tournament of chivalry and heroes, in which knights compete to claim victory in one of the market's central stagings.

The enclosure also hosts the recreation of a medieval camp with a display and exhibition of cooking, weapons, and armor. Added to this are activities dedicated to the work of the squire, stalls of current and medieval products, a wishing olive tree, and the Tir a l"orc proposal, within an edition that will continue tomorrow with new activities for residents and visitors.
