The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested on Wednesday night a 42-year-old man in the occupied building at Ferran Puig round, 13, in Girona, after an intervention due to an argument between a man and a woman in the property. The arrested man, who has accumulated more than 30 police records, is being investigated for an alleged crime of assault against authority and another of threats.
The action occurred around 11:45 p.m. The officers went to the building after receiving the alert and, during the intervention, the man allegedly threatened the police with death and resisted arrest.
Tension during the detention and the transfer
Once subdued, the detainee maintained a violent attitude also in the police vehicle. During the transfer, he launched new death threats and kicked with his feet the interior partition of the car.
The situation continued already in police facilities. In the custody area of the Vista Alegre police station, the man confronted two agents and allegedly came to hit them, facts that are incorporated into the open investigation.
A property with recent incidents
The arrest occurred in a building occupied since August 2024 on Ferran Puig ring road. The property has registered several conflictive episodes in recent months and last week was already the scene of a fire.
The detainee will soon be brought before the court. The investigation remains open pending the determination of the scope of the facts attributed to the arrested person and his appearance before the court.
