Girona takes Pigall to the MWC: AI to optimize the management of Social Services

Girona City Council presented this Monday the Pigall tool at the Mobile World Congress, which is held at the Gran Via venue in Barcelona. The application, aimed at improving the management of Social Services, uses data analytics and artificial intelligence to optimize municipal resources.

Presentation in the context of the Catalonia AI 2030 Strategy

Pigall is available for attendees at the stand dedicated to the Catalonia AI 2030 Strategy. The resource was unveiled on March 4 to all interested people visiting the fair and to other agents who have developed tools with artificial intelligence. The event brings together professionals from the technology sector and institutional representatives from all over Catalonia.

Scientific collaboration and European funding

The development of Pigall has had the scientific collaboration of the team from the Observatory of Ethics in Artificial Intelligence of Catalonia (OEIAC) of the Faculty of Economics and Business Sciences and of the eXiT Research group of the Institute of Informatics and Applications (iiiA), both belonging to the University of Girona. The financing of the application has been carried out with Next Generation funds.

The City Council of Girona thus bets on technological innovation in public management, in a context of digital transformation that affects the main municipal services.
