Girona consolidated its position as a musical epicentre with the celebration of the fourteenth edition of the Strenes Festival. The city hosted the entire event and registered historic participation figures in a proposal that combined music and theatre.

31,170 tickets were sold out of the 34,530 available for the paid shows. This sales volume represented 90% occupancy in the scheduled concerts.

Historic spectator record

The festival reached an unprecedented milestone by bringing together 32,500 people. This figure includes both ticketed attendees and the public who enjoyed the free performances.

Several artists hung the sold-out sign during the cultural event. The concerts by Sílvia Pérez Cruz, Quim Masferrer, La Fúmiga, Juls, Joan Dausà, Lax'n'Busto, and La Ludwig Band sold all their tickets.

The programming was not limited exclusively to music. The event integrated traditional elements such as the giants of Salt and stick dances to enrich the local experience.

Owls close under the rain

The Catalan group Buhos put the final touch to the festival on a unique stage. They performed before about 1,500 people on the stairs of the Girona Cathedral.

The space offered 90 steps open to the public. Many fans attended dressed in the group's official black and yellow jersey with the number 10.

"We had never done a performance like this; so early, with people starting out seated or in front of views like these." - Guillem Solé, leader of Buhos

The Calafell band celebrated twenty years of career on stage. They recalled their first album from 2007 and presented their latest album titled Siempre en pie, released in 2025.

The rain did not manage to tarnish the festive atmosphere of the closing. The group performed anthems like Volcanes and Barcelona se ilumina along with energetic songs like Transmites energía and Será porque te quiero.

Previously, the city's downtown neighborhood had already vibrated with the performances of Ginestà, Dan Pedralbo, El Comboi, and Els Amics de les Arts. These offerings warmed up the atmosphere before the grand cathedral finale.
