The Bombers have intervened this Thursday in two incidents due to falling tree branches in Girona in less than an hour, with operations in the neighborhoods of Devesa and Domeny within a week marked by similar services in different points of Catalonia.
The first alert was received shortly before 11:00 AM in plaça Mela Mutermilch, in the Devesa neighborhood. Two units of Bombers were dispatched to the scene, who removed in approximately half an hour a pine branch that threatened to fall.
Action in La Devesa and new warning in Domeny
The intervention in La Devesa focused on securing the area and removing the branch before it could generate incidents. The service was resolved after about 30 minutes of work by the personnel.
Shortly after, around 11:45 hours, the Bombers received a second alert on Sant Gregori street, in the Domeny neighborhood. In this case, the branch had already fallen and the personnel removed it to avoid problems on the road.
Week of actions due to wind and rain
These two call-outs occur in a context of several similar services attended during the last few days in Catalonia. The recent episodes of wind and rain have forced the Bombers to act in different incidents related to branches and trees, especially in urban areas where there is risk for pedestrians and traffic.
The two operations in Girona were resolved without more affectations becoming known and once again place the focus on the usual incidents that weather changes leave on urban trees.
