Girona will be one of the locations for the new live-action adaptation of "Enredados", linked to The Walt Disney Company, and this Monday, April 27, it will host an in-person casting to select extras for the film. The audition will be held at the Fira de Girona, on the Devesa promenade, between 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM.
The production plans to film this summer several scenes in the Barri Vell, which will become one of the prominent settings of the fictional kingdom in which the story inspired by the tale of Rapunzel unfolds. Although Girona will be part of the filming, the main base of the project will be set up in the Ciutat de la Llum of Alicante.
Open call for extras from 4 to 80 years old
The call is aimed at men, women, and children between 4 and 80 years old. Professional and amateur dancers up to 70 years old are also sought. The organization specifies that there are no restrictions of origin or appearance and emphasizes that it is a paid job.
In the case of minors, it will be mandatory to attend accompanied by a family member. All interested persons must present a valid identity document or the NIE to participate in the process.
The organization also warns that access to the venue may be closed before the announced time if the maximum capacity foreseen during the day is reached.
Filming scheduled starting from June 2026
The filming of this new version of "Enredados" is scheduled from June 2026 and will last for about eight months. In addition to Girona and Alicante, the project will pass through other spaces such as the Castell de Santa Bàrbara and the Cathedral of Burgos.
The film will be directed by Michael Gracey and, in the information released so far, will feature Teagan Croft in the role of Rapunzel and Milo Manheim as Flynn Rider. The presence of Girona in a production of this scope will once again place the Barri Vell as one of the great audiovisual attractions of Cataluña during the coming months.
