La Rambla de la Llibertat de Girona has concentrated this Sunday two of the outstanding proposals of the Festes de Primavera, with a family circus workshop from 11:00 hours and a concert of about an hour by the Girona Banda Band at the Punt de Trobada of the Rambla. The city celebrates these festivals between the April 17 and 26.

Family circus in the very center of Girona

The Col·lectiu de Professionals del Circ de Girona has been in charge of organizing the morning activity, open to diverse audiences and designed to involve both minors and adults. The proposal has been developed in one of the most transited spaces of the center, with the aim of bringing the circus closer to residents and visitors during the festive program.

"One can come with or without family, we also like to put adults into play, instead of it being just for children" - Júlia Camacho, member of the Col·lectiu de Professionals del Circ de Girona

The same spokeswoman has defended the participatory nature of the initiative with another idea that has summarized the spirit of the day. "The best circus of your life you make it yourself", recalled Júlia Camacho.

A concert with repertoire far from the clichés

Already at the Punt de Trobada of the Rambla, the Girona Banda Band has offered a concert of approximately one hour with a varied repertoire. The program has included songs by Taylor Swift, Earth, Wind & Fire and movie themes, in a performance designed to connect with broad audiences in the very center of the city.

"People have the stereotype that orchestras play more classical pieces, but the reality is that we have a very diverse repertoire" - Jordi Picorelli, director of the Girona Banda Band

Picorelli has made a positive assessment of the concert and the space chosen for the performance. "I tell you in one word, it went perfect", affirmed the director, who also highlighted the acoustics and the format of the enclave.

"I really like this space, it is open but at the same time it remains sheltered and I really like how the band sounds here" - Jordi Picorelli, director of the Girona Banda Band

Season start for Jordi Picorelli

The performance has also served as a season opener for Jordi Picorelli at the helm of the Girona Banda Band. From the formation, the internal atmosphere of the group and its way of working on stage has also been highlighted.

"It is a musical group characterized by professionalism and also by the good vibe that makes us not only music companions, but friends" - Alexandra Gil, musician of the Girona Banda Band

With these activities, the Rambla de la Llibertat has once again been one of the main axes of the Festes de Primavera, on a day marked by family participation and by a musical offering that has sought to break molds from the heart of Girona.
