A 60-year-old woman was arrested on February 18 in a ground-floor apartment on Palamós street in Palafrugell as the alleged perpetrator of six crimes against public health. The operation was carried out by agents of the Mossos d'Esquadra from the police station of la Bisbal d'Empordà, following an investigation initiated by citizen collaboration.
Police investigation following neighborhood complaints
The police received on February 10 information about suspicious movements in the property, where rapid and constant entries and exits of people were observed. The Mossos Investigation Unit took over the case and concluded that it was a "very active" point of sale for narcotic substances. The investigated events would have occurred between February 9 and 18.
Entry and search at the domicile
In the early hours of February 18, the Mossos carried out an entry and search of the home with the support of the Regional Operational Resources Area (ARRO) of Girona and officers from the Citizen Security and Investigation Unit of La Bisbal d"Empordà. During the intervention, the agents located five precision scales, a diary with sales annotations, a homemade wooden press, cocaine wrappers, and plastic bag cutouts for preparing doses.
In the search, were seized a piece of hashish of 98 grams, two rocks of cocaine of about 70 grams, and 104 grams of a gray powdered substance. In addition, in the apartment were found three electronic tablets, five laptop computers, ten mobile phones, a bicycle, two gold chains, and two watches. Also, were seized two short firearm magazines of 9 mm caliber and an air pistol.
Stolen objects and barter for substances
The investigation allowed determining that the bicycle had been stolen from a school in Pals on January 15 and was returned to its owner. Other intervened objects were listed as stolen, among them two laptop computers, one stolen from inside a vehicle on February 1 in Palafrugell and another stolen from the changing rooms of the sports pavilion in the same town on February 5. According to the police, on several occasions the buyers would have handed over objects in exchange for obtaining substances.
The investigation remains open
The detainee, who has a record, will be summoned to testify before the judicial authority when required. The investigation remains open and new arrests are not ruled out in relation to these events.
