A fire declared at dawn in the yard of a transport company in Medinyà has completely burned four tractors and damaged a fifth unit, without causing injuries. The fire started shortly after 2:45 a.m. in the facilities located at the intersection of the N II with the GI 514.
Four units of Firefighters were dispatched to the scene, who worked to contain the flames and prevent the fire from spreading through the premises. The intervention allowed to stop the advance of the fire before it reached some diesel fuel tanks located in the area.
Four vehicles destroyed and another affected
The toll of the fire leaves four completely charred tractors. In addition, a fifth unit suffered heat damage on its right side. Despite the intensity of the fire, no injured persons are reported.
Open investigation into the origin of the fire
The Mossos d'Esquadra have opened an investigation to determine the origin and causes of the fire, which for now remain under study. It has not been revealed if the fire originated accidentally or due to other factors.
Another recent precedent in Medinyà
This new episode comes after another fire registered in August 2025 in Medinyà. On that occasion, the fire broke out in an open field on Llevant street and affected two tractors, two trailers, a trailer box, and vegetation.
The investigation now underway must clarify what caused the fire early this morning at the transport company and if there is any relationship with other fires occurred in the municipality.
