A driver from Cassà de la Selva has been criminally reported by the Mossos d'Esquadra of the Regional Traffic Area for driving recklessly and under the influence of alcohol on the C-65, between Quart and Cassà de la Selva, on the morning of Monday, February 16.

The situation began when, around 8:30 AM, several drivers traveling through Quart alerted 112 to the presence of a vehicle driving erratically, entering the oncoming lane and forcing other road users to swerve to avoid a collision. The car, according to initial reports, was heading along the C-65 towards the Costa Brava.
The calls from witnesses allowed the Mossos to activate a search operation in the area. The vehicle was finally located in the parking lot of a company in Cassà de la Selva. The driver was identified at the scene and admitted the facts to the officers.
Breathalyzer test and criminal complaint
The tourism presented recent damage and the front right tire was flat. Traffic officers administered an alcohol test to the driver, which yielded a result of 0.70 mg/l of exhaled air, a rate that far exceeds the permitted limit of 0.25 mg/l.
According to the police, the man is accused of two road safety offenses: reckless driving and driving under the influence of alcohol. The facts have been brought to the attention of the competent judicial authority.
