A driver has been criminally charged for driving at 208 km/h on the A 2 as it passes through the municipal district of Aiguaviva, on a section of the highway limited to 100 km/h. The infraction was detected last March 7, around 7:00 p.m., in the direction of Girona.
Detected by a mobile radar on the A 2
The action was carried out by agents of the Mossos d'Esquadra from the Girona Regional Traffic Area. The vehicle was detected by a mobile radar located at kilometer point 708 of the highway, within the municipality of Aiguaviva.
As it was a criminally punishable speed, the officers opened criminal proceedings against the driver as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against road safety. The recorded speed more than doubled the limit set for that section.
Cited to appear before the court
The man was cited and will have to appear before the duty investigating court of Girona when required. The police investigation focuses on these facts, detected during a speed check on one of the main access roads to the Girona area.
