A 37-year-old driver was arrested this Saturday by the Mossos d'Esquadra after driving at 233 km/h on the N-260 highway, near Navata, in Alt Empordà. The section where he was detected had a speed limit of 90 km/h.
Persecution and arrest in Borrassà
The incident occurred at a quarter to five in the afternoon. The man performed several prohibited overtakes, which posed a risk to other road users. The officers managed to intercept the vehicle later on the C-26, within the municipal district of Borrassà, also in the Alt Empordà.
Tests and immediate consequences
After the arrest, the Mossos carried out drug and alcohol tests on the driver, which came back negative. The vehicle was immobilized at the scene of the intervention and the driver was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against road safety.
