The Local Police of Cassà de la Selva arrested a man on Saturday in the vicinity of the municipality after an intervention in which 79 kilograms of cannabis buds were located inside a car. The arrested person has already been brought before the court.
Performance in a farmhouse in the surroundings of Cassà
The intervention occurred after officers detected a strong smell of marijuana and the presence of vehicles in the yard of a farmhouse. Based on that verification, the Local Police acted in the area and ended up locating the substance in one of the cars.
In the vehicle, 79 kilos of cannabis buds were seized, an amount whose value is estimated at around 150,000 euros in the illicit market. The arrested man was detained within the framework of this police operation.
The detainee is already in judicial hands
After the police proceedings, the suspect was brought before the court. The operation was carried out in the vicinity of Cassà de la Selva, in an area where the presence of the farmhouse and several vehicles caught the attention of the officers along with the intense smell of the substance.
The investigation now remains in judicial headquarters, after an action that allowed to remove from the illegal circuit a relevant amount of cannabis in the vicinity of the municipality.
