The Salvador Espriu square in Girona will host on Sunday, June 14, the second edition of the Posa't la Gorra! festival, a day organized by the Association of Families and Friends of Children with Cancer in Catalonia, AFANOC, to raise awareness about childhood and adolescent cancer and raise funds.
The event will be held from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM and will once again combine a festive format with financial support for families. The proceeds will be used to maintain the free services that the organization has been providing since diagnosis and throughout the illness process.
The festival will feature music, workshops, and two charity raffles in Girona
The day will be presented by Sergi Carbonell and will kick off with a performance by the GraLlers of the Colla Gegantera. Throughout the morning, La Bleda will also take the stage with a clown show, the Escola Maribel Bover with a dance performance, and Jordi Tonietti with a family concert.
In addition to the artistic program, the organization has planned workshops and activities for the attendees. There will be face painting, tattoos, wooden games with Salsa Jove, activities from Grup Retall, JUDO Palau, and a space to draw Xuklis.
During the morning, two charity raffles will also be held with the collaboration of Magma and Kaotik World, as part of a program designed to attract families to Salvador Espriu square.
The Pau Terricabras family will read the festival's manifesto
One of the central moments of the event will be the reading of the manifesto, which will be carried out by the Pau Terricabras family. The participation aims to give visibility to the reality faced by many families with children and adolescents with cancer.
AFANOC continues to support families in hospitals, at Casa dels Xuklis, and from its territorial headquarters. The organization provides this support from the moment of diagnosis and throughout the illness process.
Furthermore, the cap for the 25th edition of the campaign has been designed by artist Joan Turu. It can be obtained through a donation of 8 euros on the AFANOC website, at the Girona headquarters, or on the day of the festival.
