A fire in an Endesa transformer has left part of a sector of Figueres without electricity supply this Thursday at noon. The incident has been registered in Riumors street, between Migdia and Sant Antoni streets, where the Bombers have intervened to extinguish the flames.
Blackout in part of the affected area
The fire has caused a fault that has interrupted the electrical service in part of the surrounding area. After the fire was extinguished, company operators have started to work on the repair of the installation to try to restore the supply as soon as possible.
The repair can last several hours
The Figueres City Council has reported that the complete repair could be delayed between three and four hours. With this scenario, the impact on the electricity service could be prolonged during a large part of the day, awaiting that the works allow resolving the fault in the transformer.
The incident has concentrated at this point of Riumors street, in a strip located between Migdia and Sant Antoni, and keeps the technical teams working on site to restore normality in the electrical grid.
