A 31-year-old woman has been arrested this Monday accused of murdering her partner in the municipality of Salt. The arrest occurred when the suspect voluntarily went to the Mossos d'Esquadra police station to report the man's death.
The events occurred in a garage located on the central street Doctor Ferran. Various patrols of the Catalan police and agents of the Local Police of Salt moved to the scene after receiving the alert. The officers located the lifeless body with evident signs of violence.
A deadly stab in the leg
The first investigations point to the victim, also of Honduran origin, having died from a stab wound. Although the bladed weapon struck the leg, investigators do not rule out that the wound affected a vital artery. This injury would have caused massive and irreversible internal bleeding.

The Criminal Investigation Division took immediate control of the scene. Specialists worked for hours in the garage to collect evidence and clarify the exact dynamics of the events. Tracking efforts extended into the night so as not to leave any clue unanalyzed.
The case lacks prior police records among those involved. The magistrate of Court 4 of Instruction of Girona carried out the removal of the body and assumed judicial direction of the proceedings. The case remains under summary secrecy while the investigation progresses.
Second crime of the year in Girona
This event marks the second homicide registered in the Girona regions during the current year. Social tension increases as it coincides with another recent case of extreme gravity in the province.
Last March 22, Adrián Romero, a 31-year-old resident of Olot, lost his life after being stabbed in the back in broad daylight. The victim from La Garrocha was originally from Honduras and had been living in the town for years. That crime led to three immediate arrests by the Mossos.
On that occasion, an adult was admitted to provisional prison while another was released as a witness. A minor was interned in a closed regime for his alleged participation. Now, the new detainee from Salt will soon be brought before the judicial authorities to testify before the judge.
The Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences of Girona will perform the pertinent autopsy. This technical examination will be decisive in confirming whether the hemorrhage was the sole cause of death or if other relevant traumatic factors exist.
