Girona closed this weekend the 71st edition of Temps de Flors with an expected attendance of more than 400,000 visitors spread across 113 spaces and 141 projects. The figure represents a 10% increase compared to the previous year.

The results show high but irregular attendance, conditioned by the weather. The day with the most visitors was Sunday, May 10, with 72,751 people, 18.4% of the total, ahead of Saturday the 15th, with 59,633, and Saturday the 9th and Thursday the 14th, with 54,152 visitors on both days.

The exhibition has once again spread throughout a large part of the city with 113 open spaces and 141 floral projects. Among the novelties of this edition are two proposals incorporated in Pont Major and the recovery of the installations on the four bridges that cross the Onyar River.

Cultural commemorations of the Gaudí Year and the 150th anniversary of Pau Casals' birth have also played a significant role, integrated into the route of an edition that has combined usual settings in the Barri Vell with new points outside the more central circuit.

Gemma Geis i Carreras, deputy mayor and councilor for Economic Promotion and Legal Services, claimed the scope of the event. Girona has surpassed 400,000 visitors in an edition with 113 spaces and, in the words of the councilor, has once again demonstrated its organizational capacity in an event with its own seal.

Tourism from Catalonia led attendance, although France gained weight on several days

The data collected at the Rambla Tourist Office places the weight of visitors from Catalonia and Spain at 69.93%. Nevertheless, international tourism, with a notable presence from France, surpassed national tourism on specific days.

The organization also expanded accessibility measures with two Espai Calma points, a Rest Area, areas with benches, an adapted route, and 30 free parking spaces for people with reduced mobility.

Among the enclosed venues, Sant Lluc led the number of accesses with 102,223 entries. It was followed by the Ajuntament, with 93,902, and the courtyard of Casa Carles, with 91,301.

The 22nd Display and Interior Decoration Exhibition brought together 32 establishments and awarded the first prize to Jon Cake, on Rambla de la Llibertat, the second to Cottet òptics, on Carrer de Joan Maragall, and the third to Onix, on Gran Via de Jaume I.
