A vehicle has overturned this Monday morning on the AP 7 at the height of Sant Gregori, in the direction of France. The alert was received at 6:11 hours at kilometer point 60 and the sole occupant of the car has been evacuated to Trueta hospital for a check-up.
When the Firefighters arrived at the scene, the driver was already out of the car and had not been trapped. According to the operational account, at first he apparently seemed fine, although finally the emergency services opted to transfer him to the hospital to check his condition.
The car has been left removed on the shoulder
The deployed personnel have righted the vehicle and moved it to the shoulder, where it remained awaiting the tow truck. The incident was recorded at kilometer 60 of the AP 7, in the Sant Gregori section and northbound.
The incident has occurred a few kilometers from another accident registered last March 1 on the same highway, at kilometer point 63.10, at the height of Salt and also in the northbound direction.
A recent precedent in the environment of Girona
In that accident, the alert came in at 5:08 p.m. on a Sunday due to a collision in which at least two vehicles were overturned and a third car was involved. The first police reports from that day indicated that two people could have serious injuries.
The Firefighters then had to extricate one of the victims, who had been trapped inside one of the cars. In addition, the accident forced the closure of one lane, leaving only one operational in the Figueres direction for almost two hours and caused traffic jams of up to three kilometers at the southern access of the highway in Girona.
The rollover this Monday has resulted, for now, in a single person transferred for medical review and without people trapped, in a new incident on a stretch of the AP 7 that had already registered another serious accident in recent weeks.
