The Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested a 29-year-old man in Palamós, a repeat offender, accused of stealing a mobile phone with a punch on Avenida Onze de Setembre. The assault occurred around eleven at night on May 12 and ended with the recovery of the device and the discovery of a knife when patrols located the suspect shortly after.
The arrest came a day after the same man had already been arrested for another violent robbery committed in the early morning of May 9 in the same municipality. Despite this immediate prior record, he acted again on the street and the judge has now ordered his provisional imprisonment.
The detainee acted again on May 12 after another arrest the previous day
In the most recent robbery, the alleged perpetrator punched the victim in the nose without justification and took his mobile phone. Immediately after, the victim sought help in a nearby establishment, from where they called 112.
Shortly after, patrols from the Bisbal d'Empordà police station located and arrested the suspect. During the operation, officers recovered the stolen phone and found a knife on him.
In addition to that assault, the same individual had already been arrested on May 11 for a violent robbery that occurred in the early morning of May 9. The sequence places two arrests in just three days for different incidents in Palamós.
The investigation linked the suspect to two violent robberies and another in a vehicle
In the first violent robbery, the investigated person threw the victim to the ground and kicked him before taking about 500 euros in cash and a mobile phone. The assault caused a nasal fracture, the loss of two teeth, and a momentary loss of consciousness.
The victim of that assault received initial attention from the Local Police of Palamós and was later transferred to the Palamós hospital. The Investigation Unit of the Bisbal d'Empordà police station worked with the local police to resolve that case.
On May 9, the arrested person had also been apprehended for a robbery with force inside a vehicle on Voramar street in Palamós. That prior record adds to his status as a repeat offender.
Finally, the detainee was brought before the duty investigating court of Bisbal d'Empordà on May 12, and the judge ordered his provisional imprisonment.
