The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested in the early hours of April 3 a minor accused of stealing a mobile phone valued at 700 euros on Ferran Puig ring road in Girona, in the Bonastruc Figuerola neighborhood. The arrest occurred around 00:45 during a preventive service by a Girona police station patrol in the Eixample area.
The agents observed a hooded young man running in the direction of Séquia street, pursued by another person. Upon giving him the stop command, the minor did not stop and continued the escape, so the patrol ended up intercepting him a few meters away.
Police intervention in the middle of the street
During the intervention, the officers had to subdue the minor to be able to stop him. At that moment they verified that he was carrying a mobile phone in his hand.
While the intervention was unfolding on ronda Ferran Puig, a man approached the police officers to ask for help and explained to them that the young man had just stolen his device. Subsequently, the victim formalized the complaint.
Detained for an alleged theft
The Mossos identified the minor and held him detained as the alleged perpetrator of a theft, a classification that the police force has confirmed. The stolen phone was valued at 700 euros.
The arrest occurred in front of the occupied flats on Ferran Puig avenue, a point in Girona that in recent weeks has concentrated several incidents and that is once again placed in the police focus with this early morning operation.
