A hiker was injured this Saturday afternoon in the Rocacorba area, in Canet d'Adri, and had to be rescued by emergency services. The accident alert was received at 6:18 p.m. and activated an operation by the Generalitat Firefighters along with the Special Actions Group, the GRAE.
Evacuation with air support in Rocacorba
The man suffered an ankle injury, which forced the organization of an extraction in a complex access area. During the intervention, a hoisting system was used to evacuate the hiker and remove him from the spot where he had been injured.
Participating in the operation were four Fire Department vehicles, a helicopter and a joint team with the SEM. Once the rescue was completed, the injured person was attended to by medical personnel and evacuated by land.
Transfer to Hospital Trueta
The hiker was transferred by ambulance to Trueta Hospital in a less serious condition. The operation concluded after ensuring the evacuation and medical assistance of the injured person in this mountain environment of Gironès.
