Three people burst into a bar on Passeig Catalunya in Torroella de Montgrí on Tuesday around seven in the evening and hit the owner and a waiter with sticks. The alleged aggressors fled before security forces arrived, and the case remains pending a report at the Bisbal police station of the Mossos d'Esquadra.
The assault was triggered by a prior argument related to a scooter being ridden in a pedestrian zone. After that confrontation, a minor alerted their relatives, and two individuals went to the establishment, resulting in a dispute on the street ending inside the premises with two workers injured.

One of the affected individuals required ten stitches. The Local Police initially attended to the two victims at the bar, and then the SEM (Emergency Medical Services) completed the assistance, without the need for them to be transferred to the hospital.
According to the information known so far, three individuals participated in the assault. All of them escaped before the arrival of the security forces.
The city council announced it will exercise popular prosecution for the attack
The council condemned the events in a statement and announced that it will appear as popular prosecution in any judicial proceedings that may be opened based on the report. The municipal government framed the institutional response within the seriousness of an assault that occurred in the middle of Passeig Catalunya.

Furthermore, the local executive described what happened as "absolutely intolerable" and called for "maximum force" from the judiciary to prevent similar incidents from happening again. The investigation will depend on the report filed with the Mossos d'Esquadra in La Bisbal.
For their part, the Local Police will coordinate with the rest of the security forces on available resources to reinforce security in Torroella de Montgrí. The immediate toll of the attack leaves two workers injured, one of them with ten stitches.
