The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested three men aged 21, 22, and 43 on Thursday morning for the assault on two workers in a bar on Paseo Catalunya in Torroella de Montgrí. The arrestees, who have prior records, are being investigated for a alleged crime of assault following events that occurred on May 26 around 7:00 PM.
The sequence began with an argument related to an electric scooter passing at high speed through a pedestrian area and ended, nearly an hour later, with a return to the establishment armed with sticks and glass objects. The owner of the establishment and a waiter who tried to help him were injured in the assault.

The initial alert reported a fight between four or five people inside the establishment. From there, an older man, a relative of one of the young people involved in the previous argument, entered the bar and attacked the owner.
During that first assault, he hit the owner on the head and body, threw a glass tray at him, and chased him behind the bar until he fell. The waiter who came to help also received blows.
Far from ending there, the assailants fled the scene and returned approximately an hour later with three more people. In that second episode, they attacked both workers again, this time armed with sticks and glass objects.
The owner was transferred to Palamós and the waiter received ten stitches
The owner suffered a wound to his head and hand, as well as bruises and scratches. Health services transferred him to the Palamós hospital for medical attention.
For his part, the waiter was treated at the local CAP and needed 10 stitches for the injuries caused during the assault. The investigation led to a joint operation by the Mossos d'Esquadra from the Bisbal d'Empordà station, the Local Police, and the Guardia Civil to locate the alleged perpetrators.
