The violence of a broken bottle terrorized on May 1st the workers of two pharmacies in the region of Gironès. The aggressor acted with speed and extreme intimidation in two separate robberies separated by barely five hours.
The first assault occurred around noon in the Eixample neighborhood of Girona. Hours later, the same man repeated the modus operandi in the center of Salt around 5:30 PM. In both cases, he broke a glass container to threaten the employees and empty the cash registers.
A fatal error during the second robbery
The precipitation played against the delinquent during the second heist. While picking up the stolen bills, several of them fell to the ground and, in the attempt to recover them, the suspect lost his personal documentation.
That oversight allowed the agents to identify him immediately. The Mossos d'Esquadra Investigation Unit of the Girona police station initiated an active search that culminated three days later.
Detained after a decade of background
The investigators located and arrested the man on May 4 at noon in the city of Girona. He was 30 years old and had a dozen previous police records.
He was remanded in custody after being brought before the court at the Girona duty investigating court. Justice is now investigating the two robberies with violence and intimidation as connected incidents.
