Los Marrecs de Salt will celebrate on Sunday, June 14 a commemorative day in Plaça del Vi to remember 30 years of casteller activity in this space in Girona. The event will also bring together Castellers de Vilafranca and Colla Jove dels Xiquets de Tarragona.

The commemoration aims to reinforce Girona's role on the casteller map, with the aspiration of claiming the city as a "casteller reference in the north." Added to this objective is a commitment to raise the level of the diada, as Pau Caravaca, cap de colla of Marrecs, announced that the three formations "will go to their maximums."

The diada will bring together three colles in Plaça del Vi on June 14

The central event will take place in Plaça del Vi, a stage linked for three decades to the casteller activity of Marrecs de Salt. The day has been planned as a celebration of that journey and as a significant event within the local calendar.

Alongside the Salt colla, two invited groups with their own weight in the casteller world will participate: Castellers de Vilafranca and Colla Jove dels Xiquets de Tarragona. The presence of both formations places the day in a dimension that goes beyond the local anniversary.

During the presentation of the event, the mayor of Girona, Lluc Salellas, the deputy mayor and councilor for Culture, Quim Ayats, the cap de colla Pau Caravaca, and the vice-president of the entity, Sebastià Morató, participated.

The organizers' forecast is for a diada of high technical level. Caravaca maintained that both Marrecs de Salt and the two invited colles will face the event with their best efforts.

This statement opens up the possibility that Plaça del Vi will see casteller constructions that have not been performed before on this stage. The entity links this expectation with the desire to give visibility to Girona within the casteller circuit of the north of the country.

In addition to the casteller performance, the day will include a cercavila and a concert in Plaça de les Botxes, which will complete the program planned for Sunday, June 14.
