Girona improved in 2025 the rating it receives from international tourists and reached 69.76% of very satisfied visitors, ten points more than the previous year. The figure places the demarcation above the Catalan average, which closed the year at 65.47%.
The improvement, however, does not place Girona at the head within Catalonia. Tarragona leads the ranking with 73.86%, while the most intense leap occurred in Camp de Tarragona and Terres de l'Ebre, where the proportion of very satisfied visitors rose more than 12 points.
Girona gained ten points, but Tarragona kept first place
The data come from the International Tourist Satisfaction Survey, which Turespaña prepares based on more than 20,000 interviews with non-resident visitors. The study measures both the overall rating of the trip and the percentage of tourists who declare themselves very satisfied.
In that second indicator, Girona registered one of the most visible improvements of the year within Catalonia. The ten-point rise left it ahead of the regional average and also above the increase noted in Barcelona, where the advance was 6.5 points.
Tarragona was ahead, with 73.86% of very satisfied international tourists. Furthermore, Camp de Tarragona and Terres de l'Ebre concentrated the largest year-on-year increase, with more than 12 points.
Catalonia reached 9.07 out of 10 and remained below the Spanish average
The overall satisfaction of international tourists in Catalonia stood at 9.07 out of 10 in 2025. The score rose seven hundredths compared to the previous year, while the percentage of very satisfied visitors grew by almost seven points in Catalonia as a whole.
Even so, Catalonia remained below the Spanish average, which reached 9.37. The difference appears in a year of general improvement in the community and with advances in the main Catalan tourist destinations.
Outside of Catalonia, Galicia obtained the best rating in the State with a 9.41 out of 10. Extremadura and Castilla La Mancha shared second place with a 9.25.
The Turespaña survey is based on more than 20,000 interviews with non-resident international tourists and sets a figure of 69.76% of very satisfied visitors for Girona in 2025.
