La Mona has closed its second edition in Girona with 8,034 visitors during three days of activity at the Palau de Fires, a figure that surpasses last year's, when the Easter children's park gathered 7,854 people.

The proposal, promoted by the Girona City Council and Fira de Girona, was held on March 30 and 31 and April 1 in the afternoon. The day with the highest attendance was March 31, with 3,113 attendees. On March 30, 2,456 people passed through the venue, and on April 1, 2,465 did so.

More attendance in the second edition

The balance shows an increase in public compared to the first edition and consolidates this event aimed at family audiences during the Easter holidays. La Mona was aimed at children from 2 years old with an offer of recreational and educational activities.

"We are very satisfied with the public's response. La Mona has consolidated itself as a reference space for families during Holy Week, offering quality and accessible activities for everyone" - Queralt Vila Vergés, councilwoman of the Girona City Council

The councilwoman has also linked the growth in attendance with the expansion of the offer and with the commitment to a city model also designed for the child public.

Inflatables, workshops and educational proposals

The program brought together 23 inflatables, workshops, play areas for early childhood and a family bingo with guaranteed prizes. Activities energized by the Salsa Jove entity and workshops on the use of AED defibrillators by Dipsalut were also organized.

Outside, the venue featured the participation of security and emergency forces, with the objective of bringing their work closer to children during the holidays.

"The increase in attendance compared to the previous year reflects the growth of the project, both in space and in offerings" - Coralí Cunyat, director of the Fira de Girona

Measures of inclusion to expand access

This year's edition incorporated specific measures to facilitate the participation of more families. Among them, a Calm Space managed with the collaboration of AFANOC, music-free time slots, and priority access for neurodivergent children.

The Mona thus strengthens its presence in Girona as a family Easter proposal, with rising attendance and a program that combines play, educational activities and initiatives designed to improve accessibility within the venue.
