The man, 78 years old, who was seriously injured last Friday in a fire declared in his home on Trafalgar street in Sant Feliu de Guíxols, has died. The victim had suffered burns on practically half of his body and remained hospitalized after being evacuated by helicopter to Vall d'Hebron Hospital.
A fire originated in an armchair
The fire started when the armchair of the dwelling caught fire. The flames affected that element of the home and the Bombers de la Generalitat mobilized three units to the property. The intervention allowed the fire to be extinguished in a few minutes.
Before the arrival of emergency services, the man, who had mobility problems, had managed to notify the SEM through the telecare service. After the initial attention, he was transferred by helicopter to the Barcelona hospital due to the severity of the injuries.
Dies days after the fire
The neighbor had been in serious condition due to the burns suffered on almost half of his body. Finally, he has not overcome the injuries caused by the fire that occurred in his house in Sant Feliu de Guíxols.
