The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested a 36-year-old man on the AP 7, at kilometer 95 of Fogars de la Selva, after locating drugs, cash, and high-end items inside the vehicle. The arrest occurred at dawn, on Friday, March 13, within the municipal area of this town in La Selva.
According to the police force, a plainclothes traffic patrol from the Girona Regional Traffic Area, Girona sector, decided to stop the car after it overtook the officers at high speed. When they identified the driver, they detected a strong smell of marijuana coming from the car.
Discovery of drugs and money in the vehicle
In the search of the passenger car, the agents located 59,345 euros in cash and also 3,000 Mexican pesos. Inside the car they also found a bracelet and a high-end watch.
In the rear part of the vehicle, the Mossos found 190 grams of cocaine, 17.5 grams of hashish and 2.5 grams of marijuana. Based on these indications, the driver was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health related to drug trafficking.
I pass to judicial disposition
The same source has indicated that the arrested person had a record. After the arrest, the man was placed at the disposal of the investigating court on duty of Arenys de Mar.
