Four people have sustained minor injuries in a head-on collision between two cars in Madremanya, on the GIV 6701 road towards Monells. The accident occurred this Tuesday afternoon and the alert to 112 was received at 3:21 PM.
One of the occupants was trapped inside one of the cars and had to be extricated by the Firefighters. Once freed, the injured person was attended to by the Sistema d'Emergències Mèdiques, which took charge of the assistance along with the rest of those affected.

To the scene of the accident, officers from the Mossos d'Esquadra de Trànsit, units of Bombers and SEM resources were dispatched, including a medicalized helicopter and several ambulances. According to the balance provided by the Servei Català de Trànsit, the four injured people suffered minor injuries and were evacuated to a hospital.
The collision also forced the closure of the GIV 6701 road for an hour, while the occupants were attended to, the vehicles involved were removed, and traffic was normalized in this section of the municipality.
Open investigation to clarify the causes
The Mossos d'Esquadra Traffic unit has taken charge of the investigation to determine how the frontal collision between the two cars occurred. The causes of the accident remain under investigation.
