Residents of Vista Alegre, in Girona, have reported four alleged cases of dog poisoning in the vicinity of the neighborhood park and the bank of the Onyar river. According to their account, the incidents would have been recorded over the last week.
The owners of the affected animals have carried out analyses and maintain that the dogs would have ingested a toxic product for rodents. For now, one of the animals has died and another remains in serious condition, always according to the neighborhood complaint.
Neighborhood complaint in a usual walking area
The alarm focuses on the stretch between Vista Alegre park and the Onyar riverbank, a space frequented by residents who walk with their animals. Residents demand that Girona City Council signalize the area to warn of the possible risk and that it promotes an investigation to clarify what has happened.
The concern is not new. Residents assure that it is not the first time that similar incidents have been registered at this point in the city and affirm that in the last three years they had already warned of different cases in the same area.
They ask for measures and will go to justice
In their public complaint, the residents maintain that the council "always has opted to make administrative silence". Given this situation, they assure that they plan to take the case before justice.
