The Mossos d'Esquadra and the Local Police of Salt arrested on March 31 four men aged 20, 27, 30 and 42 in an apartment on Torres i Bages street in Salt, as part of an investigation into an alleged crime against public health. The operation focused on a dwelling located on a mezzanine floor which, under investigation, functioned as a retail drug sales point.

Judicial entry in a mezzanine of Torres i Bages street

The operation was the result of a joint investigation by the Investigation Unit of the Mossos from the Girona police station and the Local Police of Salt. Early in the morning of March 31, the agents carried out a judicial entry and search in the dwelling.

During the operation, the police seized 32 wraps of a white powder substance, presumably cocaine, with a total weight of 37 grams. Almost 3,000 euros in cash were also found on the floor.

Material linked to alleged drug trafficking

During the search, the agents found three precision scales, circular plastic and wire cutouts, material usually related to the preparation and distribution of narcotic substances. Along with this, nine mobile phones and two tablets were seized, in addition to tools, colognes and items of clothing.

The police maintains open checks to determine if the origin of those phones, tablets, tools, colognes, and items of clothing could be illicit.

Illegal connection to the electrical grid

The investigators also found that the house's electricity was illegally connected in the entrance hall. The four arrested individuals had no police record.

The detainees appeared this Thursday before the duty court of Girona, which must now decide on their procedural situation while the investigation remains open.
