Increase in criminal caseload and saturation in domestic violence
The criminal jurisdiction presents a particularly delicate situation. Pending cases at the close of the quarter increased from 26,811 to 31,775, representing an 18.5% rise. García Morales warned that the creation of seven new judicial units will not be enough to reverse the structural collapse. He also alerted about the saturation in bodies such as Penal Court 6 of Girona, specialized in domestic violence, where hearings are scheduled up to two years in advance and the system relies on reinforcements and substitutions to maintain ordinary activity.

Manga Case Archived After Thirteen Years
The investigating court number 3 of Santa Coloma de Farners has shelved the Manga case thirteen years after its initiation. The reason is the excessive duration of the investigation, which has led to the dismissal of the case.
Warning about the future of justice in Girona
The president of the Girona Court has insisted that the current saturation is causing clogged courts, a reduced capacity to issue rulings, and delays of up to two years in some departments. The situation, according to García Morales, requires more than the mere creation of new units to prevent the structural collapse of the judicial system in the province.
