The intense rains and snow recorded this Saturday have led to at least 250 calls to the emergency telephone number in Catalonia, with particular impact in Camp de Tarragona and the Ponent area. Most of the alerts are related to traffic problems, obstacles on the road, the presence of snow or ice, accidents, and some flooding in ground-floor dwellings.

Incidents and most affected areas

Between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM, the Bombers de la Generalitat (Generalitat Firefighters) have managed 139 calls, mainly for landslides and water accumulation. El Camp de Tarragona has accounted for 40 of these calls and Ponent for 42, followed by the southern metropolitan region with 23, the northern region with 19, and central Catalonia with 14. In Terres de l'Ebre, only one call was registered, while in the Girona counties, no relevant incidents are recorded.

Notable Rainfall and Road Conditions

According to the Meteorological Service of Catalonia, Constantí (Tarragonès) has been the municipality with the highest rainfall accumulation, reaching 85.2 liters per square meter. High values have also been recorded in Blancafort (Conca de Barberà) with 74.4, in Vilanova de Meià (Noguera) with 71.8, and in the city of Tarragona with 71.
