The State has put up for auction for the fourth time the old barracks of the Civil Guard of Blanes, located at number 76 of l"Estació avenue. The property goes on the market with a price of 222,237.84 euros, as part of a package of three old police facilities that also includes properties in Granada and Palencia.
The operation is managed by the Management of Infrastructures and Equipment of State Security, an agency dependent on the Ministry of Interior. The administration justifies the sale because the building is no longer necessary for the security forces and bodies.
A property of 812 square meters of plot
The old barracks of Blanes has 812 square meters of plot and 1,798 square meters built. The new tender keeps the process open for potential buyers interested in acquiring a property that has had several failed attempts at public sale.
To attend the auction, applicants must present a prior guarantee of 15,242.65 euros. The deadline to register offers ends on April 17, while the opening of bids is scheduled for April 29 in Madrid.
Without urbanistic detail in the public documentation
The public documentation of the Ministry of Interior does not specify the urban classification of the property nor determine what uses or constructions would be possible on the plot. For this reason, interested parties are referred to consult directly the urban conditions at the Blanes City Council.
The terms and conditions also state that the property will be subject to the Generalitat's right of first refusal in subsequent transfers, a circumstance that affects future operations on the property once ownership changes.
Possible direct sale if it again remains deserted
This is the fourth time that the old barracks goes up for public auction. If the procedure is again unsuccessful, the regulations foresee that the property could end up being awarded through direct sale, thus closing an alternative path to give an outlet to some premises that have been out of use for some time in Blanes.
