School pre-enrollment for the 2026-2027 academic year in Girona has left a very uneven map in I3 and first year of ESO, with centers receiving many more requests than they can handle and others that do not even cover the initial offer. The highest pressure in early childhood education falls on the Marta Mata school, with 67 first-choice applications for 38 places.
The contrast also appears in the city as a whole. Girona registers 739 first-choice applications for 781 initial I3 places, but this apparent surplus coexists with saturated schools and others with vacancies from the first cut-off. Something similar happens in secondary education, although with less margin, because first year of ESO records 891 requests for 883 places.
Marta Mata doubled the access pressure in I3 while Carme Auguet was left with 5 requests
The Marta Mata school concentrates the highest demand in I3 and almost doubles its initial offer. Other centers with more requests than places are added to this pressure, such as Vedruna Girona, with 52 for 40, and Montfalgars, with 50 for 36.
FEDAC Sant Narcís also exceeds the offer, with 46 applications for 40 places, Doctor Masmitjà, with 43 for 40, Migdia, with 41 for 38, Pericot, with 39 for 38, Verd, with 28 for 19, and Joan Bruguera, with 23 for 19.
At an intermediate point, Eiximenis is exactly balanced, with 19 applications for 19 places.
The situation changes in other neighborhoods and centers in the city. Carme Auguet registers the lowest demand, with five applications for 18 places, and Pla de Girona, with 21 for 38, Taialà, with 26 for 38, and El Bosc de la Pabordia, with 28 for 38, also remain below the offer.
To that list are added Dalmau i Carles, with 28 applications for 36 places, Balandrau, with 11 for 19, Santa Eugènia, with 11 for 18, and Àgora, with 13 for 18. Also below are Sagrada Família, with 17 for 20, Montjuïc, with 17 for 19, Cassià Costal, with 16 for 18, Annexa Joan Puigbert, with 36 for 38, Domeny, with 37 for 38, and Font de la Pólvora, with 17 for 18.
Among the subsidized network, Maristes Girona receives 39 applications for 60 places and FEDAC Pont Major, nine for 20. This data corresponds only to the first choice and may change when second preferences come into play.
Santiago Sobrequés i Vidal received 217 applications for 120 first-year ESO places
In secondary school, the Santiago Sobrequés i Vidal institute concentrates the greatest entry pressure for first year of ESO. The center has received 217 first-choice applications for 120 places, far above any other institute in Girona.
The Jaume Vicens Vives also exceeds the offer, with 134 requests for 120 places. In the subsidized schools, FEDAC Sant Narcís registers 23 applications for only eight places.
On the other hand, La Salle and Carles Rahola i Llorens are slightly below the threshold, with 115 and 114 applications for 120 places, respectively. Ermessenda has more room, with 79 for 149, Santa Eugènia, with 82 for 108, and Montilivi, with 95 for 120.
Enrollment in Primary school outside of the I3 entry adds up to 308 applications between first and sixth grade, of which 90 correspond to first grade of Primary.
The published figures include first-choice applications and initial offers, not the final allocation of places. The final result of the process will be known in June.
