A traffic accident has caused significant traffic jams this Wednesday morning on the AP-7, at the height of Sils, shortly after 730 hours. The incident occurred at kilometer 82 of the highway in the Girona direction, when one of the trucks involved lost part of its load after receiving an impact from behind and remained stopped on the right margin of the road.
Intervention of emergency services and load management
At the scene, personnel from the Generalitat Firefighters, the Medical Emergencies System (SEM), and the Traffic Mossos d'Esquadra have intervened. The transported fruit and vegetables, mainly lettuces, have been scattered on the roadway, occupying a stretch of about 200 meters.
The Firefighters have carried out a first cleaning of the road and then the work has passed to Road Conservation to completely remove the load and guarantee traffic safety.
Delays and impacts to traffic
The incident has forced the closure of several lanes of the AP-7, leaving only one open to traffic. Traffic jams have reached up to two kilometers in the Girona direction, hindering the passage of vehicles on one of the main communication routes in the area.

The accident remains under investigation by the Mossos d"Esquadra de Trànsit. No more injured parties or other vehicles involved have been registered according to the information provided so far.
