The attempted attack perpetrated in 1969 against the Tiffany's nightclub in Platja d'Aro will make the leap to sound fiction with That night at Tiffany's, a six-episode series that reconstructs that episode that occurred in the town of Baix Empordà. The production was presented this Tuesday in the event hall of Platja d'Aro.

The series is a co-production of Ràdio Capital, La Xarxa and Ràdio 4 and adapts the book The pacifist by Joan Gasull, a man who wanted to blow up a disco. The project is structured in six installments of between 20 and 25 minutes and places at the center of the story the failed attack against the well-known nightlife venue.

A sound reconstruction of the case

The direction is handled by Miquel Curanta and Toni Sellas, with script by Adrià Pujol and sound design by Absis Studios. The production brings together 46 actors led by Pep Cruz and has also had the collaboration of students and alumni of the Escola de Ràdio i Periodisme Digital de l"Empordà.

The plot follows Cisco Ayats, an 18-year-old young man who decides to blow up the nightclub and who, from that point on, faces a night of escape, detention, torture, and silence. In parallel, the story incorporates a timeline set in the present in which journalist Alba Mora begins an investigation into those events.

Local memory and review of the past

"We wanted to explain an episode that had remained in a dark corner of our history. We were interested in the fragility of ideals, the forcefulness of repression and, above all, the humanity of the silences that leave a mark" - Miquel Curanta, co-director

The soundtrack incorporates songs by Clara Peya, Quimi Portet, Roger Mas, Adrià Puntí, Marina Rossell and Sanjosex. The latter participates with a version for piano and strings created exclusively for the series.

That night at Tiffany's can now be heard on radiocapital.cat, La Xarxa+ and RTVE Play, where this dramatized reconstruction of an event that is part of the memory of Platja d'Aro and the recent history of the Costa Brava remains available.
