The Santa Eugènia neighborhood has experienced a 17.8% reduction in the number of registered crimes during the last quarter, going from 242 incidents between October and December 2024 to 199 in the same period of 2025. The decrease significantly affects property crimes, which have dropped from 172 to 145 cases, representing a 15.7% decrease.

Impact of the New Police Station in Can Burrassó

The City Council attributes this evolution to the opening of the new Municipal Police station in the old farmhouse of Can Burrassó, inaugurated last September. The facility, with 261 square meters of usable space and 372 square meters built, has become the city's second police headquarters alongside the central one located on Bernat Bacià street.

The stable and community-based police presence has been identified as a key factor in improving security data. Minor property occupations have fallen from 31 to two cases and minor property damage has been reduced by 57.9%, from 19 to 8 incidents. Robberies with violence or intimidation have decreased by 35.7%, from 14 to 9 cases, while minor thefts have fallen by 26.7%, from 30 to 22.

Widespread decrease in most crime typologies

The report also shows a 73.7% decrease in crimes against liberty, such as harassment or coercion, which have gone from 19 to five. Crimes against public safety have decreased from seven to two, and crimes against public order have gone from six to four. However, bank fraud involving credit card theft has increased from 19 to 25.

Municipal Commitment to Security and Coexistence

The shared Can Burrassó police station is the second Municipal Police headquarters in the city. The city council has announced that it will continue to invest in resources, personnel, and services to strengthen coexistence in Santa Eugènia. The decrease in crime coincides with the launch of this new police facility, which aims to consolidate proximity and direct attention to citizens.
