A large police operation deployed this Wednesday in Girona Est has detected 172 electrical frauds in a total of 268 inspections carried out in blocks and apartments on Avellaner, Castanyer, Mimosa, Roure, Llimoners, Noguer, Acàcia streets and Font de la Pólvora avenue. The operation, coordinated by the Mossos d'Esquadra of the Girona police station and the Regional Area of Operational Resources, has had the support of the Municipal Police and technicians from the electricity company.
Massive inspections and disconnections in homes
During the day, agents and technicians have focused their work on the inspection of electricity meters, detecting a 64% fraud rate in the inspected supplies. In addition, 34 disconnections for fraud in the water supply have been carried out in different properties in the area.
The operation has also included the identification of several people and the arrest of a man for whom there was an outstanding judicial order for his search and imprisonment. The Municipal Police have reported 37 vehicles and the municipal tow truck has removed 6 during the intervention.
Administrative Control and Security in Girona Est
