A 37-year-old man was injured this Thursday in Comerç street in Flaçà after accidentally falling into a well while doing masonry work on the facade of a house. The accident mobilized Bombers, SEM and Mossos d'Esquadra.
The well was about 10 meters deep and contained water. Part of the lid suddenly gave way and the worker fell inside. Despite the fall, he remained conscious.
Rescue with five crews
The Firefighters activated five units, among them one from GRAE of Olot. The personnel from the La Pera park secured the injured person inside the well and managed to extract him with a rescue triangle.
Once outside, the SEM medical personnel attended to him on site. He had a shallow gash on his head and contusions on an arm.
Transfer to Trueta
After the first assistance, the man was evacuated to the Josep Trueta hospital in Girona with minor injuries. The Mossos d'Esquadra also moved to the accident site.
The intervention allowed to resolve the rescue without the condition of the injured person being serious, after a dramatic fall in the middle of work in this dwelling of the municipality of Gironès.
