Comexi closed 2025 with a turnover of around 187 million euros, which represents a 7% growth compared to the previous year and thus links five consecutive years of increase. The company, headquartered in Riudellots de la Selva, also raised its pre-tax profit to 10.3 million euros, 28% more.
The company, specialized in solutions for the packaging sector, maintains a strong international focus. Between 90% and 95% of its sales are destined for international markets and the United States already represents more than 20% of the business.
More weight from the United States and a new base in Miami
The president of Comexi, Pau Xifra, attributes the company's evolution to geographical diversification and to the increase in sales of higher-value machinery. In this context, the United States gains weight within the group's activity.
The company opened in that country a technology center that acts as a space for demonstrations, technical service, spare parts, training, and support for innovation. That equipment, located in Miami and launched in 2023, is part of a network of three technology centers distributed among Riudellots de la Selva, Montenegro, and the American city.
Comexi also has a factory in Montenegro, Brazil, and with commercial offices in Monterrey, Mexico, and Bangkok, Thailand. Currently, the company has about 600 workers.
Bet on digital printing
The company is now preparing a change in business model linked to its commitment to digital printing applied to packaging. The solution under development will not be limited to the sale of machinery, but will incorporate a broader proposal with machine, inks, maintenance, and other associated services.
The new model even provides for pay-per-use, so that the customer does not have to acquire the equipment. For now, this digital solution has not been launched commercially and continues in the industrial validation phase.

More capacity in Riudellots de la Selva
In parallel, Comexi already has a new production facility fully operational at its headquarters in Riudellots de la Selva. The facility has about 5,000 square meters and allows for a 40% increase in assembly capacity.
The expansion has involved an investment of about 8 million euros. With this action, the company's industrial complex in the Gerundense municipality reaches 30,000 square meters.
Challenges abroad
Pau Xifra, third generation of the family and president of Comexi for almost a year, places among the main challenges the growing international competitive pressure. In particular, he points to the irruption of China due to its impact on prices.
Regarding the Middle East, the company's president maintains that that market is "absolutely stopped". Despite that scenario, Comexi faces the next growth phase with the focus placed on international expansion, industrial reinforcement in Riudellots de la Selva, and the future entry into the market of its new digital solution.
