The head of Madrid's investigating court number 23, Sonia Agudo, takes testimony this Tuesday from Vito Zoppellari Quiles, known as Vito Quiles, as a defendant for an alleged crime of revealing secrets. The appearance comes after the complaint filed by Beatriz Corredor, president of Red Eléctrica and former Minister of Housing, which was already ratified in court.

The case revolves around several publications spread on social media after the blackout of April 28, 2025. The complaint asks to investigate if Vito Quiles incurred in revelation of secrets by making public Corredor's address, in addition to spreading images of the home and launching calls for escraches to be carried out.

Messages published between late April and early May

The document states that Vito Quiles published several messages on the social network X and on his Telegram channel on April 30 and May 3, 2025. In one of them, always according to the complaint, he criticized that the president of Red Eléctrica did not go to her workplace "despite the magnitude of the energy crisis facing Spain". That message included the name of the street where Beatriz Corredor lives.

In another publication, also incorporated into the complaint, Quiles reproached Corredor for hiring "with public funds" security guards to "shield" her street. The complaint maintains that this action was part of a harassment conduct due to the "surveillance" and "persecution" carried out next to the family home of the president of Red Eléctrica.

The complaint attributes a harassment campaign

The accusation maintains that Quiles revealed the location of the home with the alleged intention that his followers would direct a constant campaign of harassment and intimidation against Corredor. In that context, Beatriz Corredor recently asked the court to compel the defendant to delete from his profiles the publications that include her private data.

Vito Quiles opposed that precautionary measure by arguing that he did not publish anything illicit and that the disseminated data was already public because it had previously appeared in media outlets. The defense maintains that this circumstance reinforces its thesis that no crime exists and that the case should be dismissed.

The defense assures that it will respond to all parties

That is the criterion that Quiles' lawyer has conveyed before the statement scheduled for this Tuesday. The investigating judge must now assess the scope of the publications, the specific content of the messages, and whether the dissemination of the street name and images of the home can fit into the investigated crime. For the moment, the case remains open and the procedure is maintained in the investigation phase.
