The Spanish Data Protection Agency has launched an interactive tool that allows citizens to monitor security breaches in real time. This platform replaces the monthly publication of statistical reports in PDF format and offers a visual and dynamic interface to explore personal data breach notifications.

The system updates the volume of registered incidents and allows segmenting the information by different criteria. Users can filter by the affected sector to identify if areas such as banking, healthcare, or e-commerce are being particularly hit by security incidents. Likewise, the application discriminates whether a breach was caused by a malicious external attack or by an accidental failure within the organization itself.

Temporal evolution and institutional strategy

The tool enables the selection of specific date ranges to analyze whether gaps are increasing or decreasing in concrete time periods. The deployment of this resource is part of the AEPD's Strategic Plan from 2025 to 2030. Traditional reports will continue to be published as documentary reference. This interactive platform is presented as the visible face of a reinforced commitment to accountability.

The AEPD also advances in the future publication of open data. This project seeks to allow researchers and privacy professionals to reuse the information in order to foster a safer and more transparent digital ecosystem for everyone.
